Mediamakers Mike Baril was the guest speaker for The Queens Library HipHop Culture Program, which was held at the Far Rockaway Library For Teens. Students were given the opportunity to showcase their musical talent as well as participate in Q&A about the inner workings of producing music, songwriting and publishing.

Media Makers NYC was again in the New York City community creating content and providing Media services. This week our team, in association with the New York State Department of Health and Dunston Consultants provided media coverage for the Voice Your Vision Sessions, held at the Restoration Plaza in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.

Voice Your Vision is a community listening session in areas legislatively defined as Minority Areas, with a 40% or greater racial and ethnic populations, which bear a disproportionate burden of poor health.

The Listening Sessions utilized a community led, bottom-up approach to identify and discuss complex health and social problems.

BROOKDALE HOSPITAL LAUNCHES YOUTH OUTREACH INITIATIVE TO REDUCE GUN VIOLENCE IN SOUTHEAST BROOKLYN

IT STARTS HERE Program

Media-makers NYC partnered with Brookdale Hospital in order to, reduce gun violence and raise awareness of the horrifying dangers of gun violence. During this event young students from various local schools were able to view these shot and wounded deceased cadavers and their various organs such as their heart and brain. The program took place on Wednesday, May 18 at 11:00AM at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.

Students who attended the It Starts Here Program - were taken to the Pathology Lab and were able to observe the brain and heart of the gunshot victims

Our whole creative team worked together in filming and recording the whole event, which included T.V COVERAGE on New York 1 radio and WBLS. Media-makers Creative Head Mike Baril stated ” Brookdale Hospitals commitment to raising awareness to young teens on the epidemic of gun violence in our East Brooklyn neighborhoods is paramount as their hospital serves over 1million residents in Brooklyn annually”.
